To treat the waste in the autoclave steam is injected into the rotating vessel over a short period of time, this period may vary according the specific heat capacities of the waste materials being processed and the amount of waste in the autoclave. This pressure will be maintained to allow the process to fully cook the waste thereby breaking the waste down into its organic and inorganic constituents.
