The autoclave is designed to rotate in both directions. This rotation is utilised in the process during loading, processing and discharging.
The autoclave has an internal helix to assist loading and discharge, the rotation of the vessel determines whether the waste is fed into or discharged from the autoclave.
The autoclave is pivoted at the rear, this pivoting action allows for the autoclave to be lifted hydraulically at the front for the purposes of loading.
Once loaded the rotating of the autoclave is ceased and it is then lowered to the horizontal position.
The autoclave door is then closed automatically and the locking mechanism actuated, once actuated the door closing mechanism is disengaged to allow the autoclave and the door to rotate as one.
