1976 - Jack Allen (Spares & Services) Ltd

This company was formed on the philosophy of Jack Allen's commitment to after sales service and was used by John as his guide, "The salesman sells the first, our service sells the rest". Refuse collectors are sophisticated pieces of equipment and no Local Authority can afford to have one off the road except for routine maintenance and the occasional small repair. The company supplied spare parts for not only its own products but spares for Seddon Atkinson and Britannia Municipal vehicles and Perkins engines. In addition field service engineers operated from three strategic depots to service the whole of the UK.

Throughout the years from the initial concept by Jack Allen to the present modern day company it has always been the belief the "end user is the best designer". The feedback from the people operating and maintaining the vehicles was all important in helping Jack Allen design vehicles that were user-friendly. This development was evident when the son's of John Allen formed a new company, Waste Hoists Limited.
